Cube Brush.com
So Marc Brunet has opened the doors of CubeBrush.com lately; a great site full of tutorials and advice for aspiring illustrators and concept artists alike. I really advise you check it out if you're interested in learning that kind of stuff.
Now that I've some time away from college - I'll be heading to Abertay University after the summer break, woop! - I can focus on some home-learning.
I figured I really need to work on some of the fundamentals - and perhaps more importantly, establish a consistent art style - so I let myself go back to the beginning, so to speak, and focus on anatomy studies from Marc's videos.
Here's some of the progress I've been making this week. (It should be noted that 90% of this first pass of anatomical studies are straight from Marc's teachings, while the second pass next week will be applying that information to my own projects/studies).

Adapt
Here's some development of a style I've been fascinated by of late; I'm fairly certain I'll be working in this way a great deal more in the future...

Temple Knight Final
So here's the final version of my latest piece of concept art, the Temple Knight.
I left it at this stage as I have learnt what I set out to with this piece; it was really just a test to see if I could come up with a workflow that would allow me to produce relatively well detailed characters in a short space of time. To an extent, it worked, but I have still a long way to go before I reach my personal goal.

Untitled WIP Stage 02
Today's progress: pushing the lighting in a more atmospheric direction, whilst testing myself with armour material rendering.

Untitled WIP Stage 01
Been working hard of late to try and establish a steady, reliable workflow for myself in regards to producing digital paintings. This is some progress from today's endeavors...

Giggin' Alone
It's been a while since last I swung by these parts; we can blame that on 2nd year HND Computer Arts and Design... intense!!
Nevertheless, it was a great year all in all and I've learnt TONS from it.
Now that I finally have a little time to focus on some personal portfolio work, here's a brief post showing some work in progress sketching of a Royal Mage I've been working on today.
Hopefully painting will commence at some point tomorrow, so stay tuned and I'll continue to post step-by-steps as I go.

Trickety-Boo
Swift artwork post:
This piece gave me nothing but problems from start to finish, but we got there in the end. Yay.

Midnight Sketch
This evening I decided to take a little time out of college projects in order to try and develop my digital painting skills a bit further.
Following the sound advice of Xia Taptara, this is the result...

Bring on the Trumpets!!
Caught in the icy embrace of another 1st semester at college, I've been hard at work producing sketch upon sketch of ideas and conceptual bliss. Having worked my way through many Great British Pounds' worth of drawing materials, I've decided that now would be as good a time as any to share a drawing or five with the cyber-people out there.
I've got a few ditties for you this evening: 3 developmentals that show my WIP design process of a main character; and 2 coloured pieces that have nothing to do with anything really, but were lying around within the vaults of my PC and deserved to at least see the light of a screen.
Alrighty then, back to the grind. I'll see you on the other side of a month or so.
